WASMUN 2010
Assistant Directors and Secretaries

The assistant director and secretary serve on the dais of the committee, under the director. Directors are the leaders of the dais and have additional responsibilities such as writing topic booklets describing the topics of discussion.

Assistant directors are the primary facilitators of debate. The assistant directors call on delegates to speak or make motions. The assistant directors must know the committee rules inside and out, and must practice proper rhetoric. They are also required to write the topic briefs that accompany the topic synopses.

Secretaries are the record keepers of the committees, keeping track of who has spoken and voting records. Secretaries may also be responsible for handling printing and distribution of resolutions.

Training sessions: One training session per month will be held in January, February and March on Saturday afternoons (or a weekday night depending upon schedules).
